Minda IMPCO Ltd Inaugurates New Manufacturing and Technical Facility in India

CERRITOS, Calif., Aug. 11, 2003 -- IMPCO Technologies, Inc. announced today the inauguration of a new facility for Minda IMPCO Limited in Gurgaon, India. The state-of-the-art 13,000 sq. ft. building will house manufacturing lines for the complete range of LPG/CNG systems for 2 wheelers, auto rickshaws, cars and buses. The facility will also house the latest design, test and emission testing capabilities to fully service its OEM and aftermarket customers.

At its peak capacity, this facility will be capable of producing over $25 million of product per year. Products produced will also be exported globally. Minda IMPCO Limited is ISO 9001 certified.

The $1 billion potential alternative fuels market in India is one of the fastest growing worldwide. With over 56 million vehicles and major air pollution problems, the government of India is legislating the use of clean burning gaseous fuels such as propane and natural gas in vehicles. The price of gaseous fuels at less than 50% that of petrol and diesel fuels is also driving the market growth.
