ArvinMeritor Appoints Alice McGuire Vice President of Investor Relations

TROY, Mich., Aug. 11, 2003 -- ArvinMeritor, Inc. today announced the appointment of Alice McGuire to the position of vice president, Investor Relations. McGuire will be responsible for ArvinMeritor's global investor strategy, including the integration of finance, communications, marketing and securities law compliance to ensure world-class communications between the company, its shareowners and the financial communities. She will report to Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Carl Soderstrom.

"Alice's significant knowledge of financial disclosure, investor targeting and financial market influences will be instrumental to ArvinMeritor as the company continues to enhance its investor relations programs," said Soderstrom. "Alice will be a valuable member of our team and we are eager to introduce her to the financial community."

Before joining ArvinMeritor, McGuire was vice president of Investor Relations for Compaq Computer Corporation. With more than ten years experience in investor relations with Compaq, McGuire earned several industry awards for her work on investor processes and the use of technology. Prior to joining Compaq, she held several management positions with architectural, engineering and educational organizations.

McGuire holds a bachelor's degree in business from Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, Texas, and is a member of the National Investor Relations Institute (NIRI). McGuire and her family will be relocating to Michigan from Tomball, Texas.
