FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
PRUETT LEADS ROCKETSPORTS CHARGE AT THE GLEN

WATKINS GLEN, N.Y. ‹ Rocketsports Racing teammates Scott Pruett and Johnny
Miller had a banner day during Sundayıs Sirius at the Glen NASCAR Winston
Cup race at Watkins Glen International. Pruett, who regularly drives the No.
7 Jaguar R Performance XKR in the Trans-Am Series for the BFGoodrich Tires
Cup, finished a Winston Cup career best second. Meanwhile, Miller, driver of
the No. 64 Eaton Cutler-Hammer Jaguar XKR, ran in the top five for several
laps, before finishing 30th after a late off-course excursion.

Pruett, who leads the Trans-Am Series points, is a two-time Trans-Am
champion (1987 and 1994). He used pit strategy, then passed Kevin Harvick on
the final restart on lap 79, and held off four-time Winston Cup Series
champion Jeff Gordon. Pruett, who ran as high as third in last yearıs race
here before finishing sixth, was hoping for a late caution.

³That pit stop was right in our window,² said Pruett, who has won five of
seven Trans-Am Series races this season. ³We had a strategy that we thought
we could play; it was an aggressive one, and it all depended on those
cautions.

³Unfortunately, we pitted so late at the end that we had to conserve fuel,²
added Pruett, who contested his rookie Winston Cup season in 2000. ³We paced
Robby (Gordon, winner), but I donıt think we could have passed him.

³A late restart would have allowed me to go for it,² concluded Pruett.

Miller, meanwhile, ran fourth late in the event, but spun off course and
finished 30th in his second Series start for Morgan McClure.

³We just had some bad luck late in the event,² said Miller, who sits second
in Trans-Am points with four podium finishes and one victory. ³The green
flag fell and I just went racing, but that used up the car a little too
much. The brakes were fading at the end, and then we had some bad luck in
the pits. Although I didnıt get the top-20 finish Iıd hoped for, I still
think it was a successful weekend.

³(Car owner) Larry McClure wants me to get some oval experience,² added
Miller, ³and they plan to run me in an ARCA car later this year.²

The next Trans-Am Series race is scheduled for Sunday, Aug. 24 at Road
America.
