CALLAWAY & CHESTERMAN SCORCH COMPETITION 

SCRIBNER, Neb. - Lee Callaway and Cy Chesterman earned wins in Top Alcohol Dragster and Top Alcohol Funny Car as racing concluded at Nebraska Motorplex's Budweiser Summer Sizzle.
"The car seems to run real good on the division tracks," said Callaway.  "I'd like to thank Stacy McLemore, Tom Conway, Chuck Haase, and my crew for all their efforts this weekend."
	The West Central Division of the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series hosted its fourth different Top Alcohol Dragster winner as Callaway defeated David Wells in the final.  
Nebraska Motorplex has been good to the second year Top Alcohol Dragster competitor as Callaway of Channelview, Texas, is now two for two at the track.  
"Although it's a long drive for us, we thought it would be neat to come back here since this is where I earned my first career win," said Callaway.
The 2002 South Central Division champion also broke a string of three consecutive wins by the number one qualifier by earning an event win from the number two qualifying position.   
	Chesterman of Sioux City, Iowa, became the first Top Alcohol racer to earn two wins within the West Central Division.  He has been to the final at all four divisional events and earned his other win at Brainerd Int'l Raceway on June 8.  
	Chesterman defeated Shawn Jones and Thomas Frickenschmidt, then was uncontested in the final when Jackie Stidham was unable to make the call due to mechanical problems.
Winners in other racing categories are Doug Engels of Watertown, S.D., in Comp; Michael Mans of Rogers, Minn., in Super Stock; Dan Fletcher of Churchville, N.Y., in Stock, Tommy Costales of Manvel, Texas, in Super Comp; Butch Kleewein of N. Platte, Neb., in Super Gas; and Henry Sliwinski of Littleton, Colo., in Super Street.  
	Curtis Spracklin of Omaha, Neb., also defeated Tom Gilligan of Fremont, Neb., in the final round of NHRA Kerker Motorcycle Series competition.
