About M/A-COM's GPS capabilities
In the past several years, global positioning technology has been one of the hottest new technologies for the automotive industry and a significant driver for new features. Using geosynchronous Global Positioning satellites, vehicles with receivers are able to identify their exact location to plot driving directions and destination courses.
Many modern automobiles now carry on-board navigation systems using the Global Positioning System (GPS). Consisting of a single antenna element and amplifier, these GPS antenna products are available for interior or exterior mounting and can be cabled for a variety of automotive platforms. This technology is creating an improved driving experience for the consumer as well as a valuable add-on feature for automobile makers.
