Euro RSCG Circle-Boston Honored for Creative Excellence in Both the Cannes Lions and Andy Awards Competitions; Work on Behalf of BMW Mini and IKEA Receives Honors
BOSTON--Aug. 7, 2003--The Boston office of Euro RSCG's digital marketing division, Euro RSCG Circle, today announced success at both the Annual Cannes Lions International Advertising Award competition and the 2003 International Andy Awards competition.Circle was awarded two Cyber Lions awards in the competition: a Silver Cyber Lion in the "Consumer Products & Services" category for the IKEA furniture Web site www.unboring.com. Additionally, Circle received a Bronze Cyber Lion in the "Automotive" category for the BMW Web site www.miniusa.com. Circle was also honored with a 2003 Andy Award in the "Interactive" category for its work on the BMW Mini Web site www.miniusa.com.
The Cannes Lions International Advertising Awards competition took place at the 2003 Cannes International Advertising Festival, which was held in June. The festival attracted close to 8,000 key players from the marketing and advertising industry. During the festival week, the competitions showcased 5,000 commercials, 3,500 outdoor ads, 6,000 print ads, 1,300 Web sites and online ads, 800 media solutions, and 1,200 direct marketing entries. The jury, nominated by members of the Cannes worldwide festival network, were highly respected and experienced top creative executives with a strong history of creating outstanding work.
The International Andy Awards honor creativity in advertising throughout the world. The competition recognizes the contributions of individuals and companies who create the work and encourage raising the standards of craftsmanship in the industry. The group of judges comprises internationally renowned creative directors. Awards are given to both single and campaign executions, distinguished by product, service or technique category.
