Bell Industries Appoints Business Development Executive to Board
EL SEGUNDO, Calif.--Aug. 6, 2003--Bell Industries, Inc. (AMEX:BI) today announced the appointment of Charles B. Graves, a business development executive, to its board of directors, increasing its board to six members.Graves, 45, is president of Sport Court, Inc., a leading provider of backyard recreation game courts, putting greens and indoor performance sports flooring.
Previously, Graves served as executive vice president of General Growth Properties, Inc., the world's second largest owner/manager of retail real estate, where he held various positions that focused on developing new product and service offerings and the opening of new markets. He has also served as a marketing consultant to the U.S. Track & Field Federation and managed Inclyne Entertainment, a television production and entertainment marketing company.
"Charlie brings a wealth of marketing and business building experience to our board at an important time when we are focused on transitioning our largest business into an outsourcing services practice," said Tracy A. Edwards, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Bell Industries. "He has an outstanding record leading companies through the development and implementation of new marketing strategies in both emerging and mature industries."
Graves earned a bachelor's degree in business administration and marketing from Iowa State University.
Bell's primary business, the Tech.logix Group, provides information technology lifecycle services, including planning, product sourcing, migration, support, and disposal services. Recurring support services include help desk and on-site expertise for desktop and mobile devices, business software applications, and network infrastructures. Bell also distributes after-market parts and accessories to the recreational vehicle market. In addition, Bell manufactures and distributes a variety of standard and custom magnetic components used in electronic applications for computer, medical and telecommunication equipment.
