Acclaris Selected for Multi-Year Contract with the State of Florida, Department of Health; Long-Term Contract to Provide Birth and Death Certificates, Marriage Licenses and Divorce Processing

TAMPA, Fla.--Aug. 5, 2003--Acclaris LLC, a premier business process-solutions firm, announced today it was awarded a multi-year contract with the State of Florida's Department of Health, Office of Vital Statistics. Acclaris will provide processing services related to birth certificates, death certificates, marriage licenses and divorce decrees statewide.

One of the most important public health functions is the monitoring of a population's health status. Vital statistics data provide a valuable source of information regarding the health status of a population. There are a large number of health status indicators which rely on vital statistics data, including infant death rates, teen births, homicides, low birth weight infants, deaths from AIDS, lack of prenatal care, and motor vehicle deaths. Vital statistics data also provide public health officials with important information used in planning, problem identification, and targeting public health programs and services. Finally, vital statistics data are often required as part of state and federal grant and contract applications and in the reporting requirements of state and federally funded public health programs.

As part of the contract delivery strategy, Acclaris has hired the employees of the previous provider, Affiliated Computer Services (ACS), to supplement fulfillment support. Under the terms of the contract, the services will be performed on site at the Office of Vital Statistics' Jacksonville location.
