Terry Borcheller - Trois-Rivieres race
strong finish
Terry Borcheller enjoyed a fourth-place GT finish in the American Le Mans
Series race in Trois-Rivières, Qué. Borcheller, of Phoenix, and his co-driver
Shane Lewis of Jupiter, Fla., combined to improve eight positions in the
demanding three-hour race.
Borcheller qualified the No. 63 ACEMCO Motorsports Ferrari 360 Modena GT 12th
on the GT grid, with a lap time of one minute 6.937 seconds on the 1.52-mile
street circuit. Lewis started the race, but was hampered by the first caution
period, when he lost a lap due to the car's track position when the caution
started. Borcheller drove the final one-hour 45-minute stint. The pair moved
steadily through the field to finish fourth, in a race hammered by attrition.
"It was amazing to take fourth place," Borcheller said. "It was a real
turnaround for the team. We lost a lap early, so we were playing catchup the rest
of the time. Jim Bell did an excellent job engineering the car and the
Yokohama tires were great - I ran the whole stint on the same set of tires. The
team really came together and did a great job on the strategy and pit stops. To
finish fourth is really big for the whole team."
