TOP NASCAR DRIVERS TEAM UP WITH WARNER MUSIC GROUP ARTISTS AT THE CHEVY ROCK & ROLL 400
Hootie & The Blowfish, Franky Perez, Sugar Ray, Trapt and Uncle Kracker To Perform at Richmond International Raceway
August 1, 2003 -- Warner Music Group (WMG), Chevrolet and Action Performance Companies Inc. today announced a series of concerts to be featured during the NASCAR triple-header weekend, September 4-6 at Richmond International Raceway. The weekend will be highlighted by the Chevy Rock & Roll 400 NASCAR Winston Cup event on Saturday, September 6 that will include pre-race, trackside musical performances by Hootie & The Blowfish, Uncle Kracker and Trapt.
On Friday, September 5, Sugar Ray and Franky Perez will kick things off with a trackside concert as part of the FUNAI 250 NASCAR Busch Series race. Both Richmond concerts are free for fans who purchase tickets to the respective races.
In addition to the concerts, seven Chevrolet Monte Carlo race cars will carry special paint schemes featuring different WMG artists. These paint schemes will sparkle under the lights on Richmond's famous three-quarter mile "Action Track." The artist and driver paint scheme pairings for the Chevy Rock & Roll 400 weekend are:

Third Eye Blind kicked off the Chevy Rock & Roll 400 promotion during the initial unveiling in May at the Food Lion Speed Street festival in Charlotte, N.C. Meanwhile, Staind, currently on their summer tour, performed at The Murat Centre in downtown Indianapolis during the Brickyard 400 race weekend as part of the program.
The Chevy Rock & Roll 400 weekend begins with the Virginia is for Lovers 200 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race on Thursday, September 4, followed by the FUNAI 250 NASCAR Busch Series race on Friday, September 5. The Chevy Rock & Roll 400 NASCAR Winston Cup Series race on Saturday, September 6 is the final race of the season at Richmond International Raceway. All races are under the lights. TNT will telecast both the NASCAR Winston Cup (Saturday, September 6 beginning at 7:00 PM Eastern, with the Discover Card Countdown to Green pre-race show) and Busch Series (Friday, September 5 beginning at 8:00 PM Eastern) races and fully integrate the program into their race coverage, with on-screen graphics, driver interviews, and specially produced interstitials.
