Lexus Announces Best-Ever July Sales
TORRANCE, Calif., Aug. 1, 2003 -- Lexus today reported best-ever July sales of 22,399 vehicles, an increase of 16.0 percent over the same period last year. Calendar-year-to-date Lexus sales totaled 140,655 up 3.5 percent.
"Growth in the industry is pointing to the luxury market, especially within the luxury SUV segment with sales expected to increase 75 percent by 2005," said Denny Clements, Lexus group vice president and general manager. "The recent new-model launches in this luxury segments should benefit from this trend."
Lexus light trucks enjoyed a best-ever July with total sales of 11,436 units, up 77.4 percent over the same period last year. In its fourth month of sales, the all-new RX 330 continues to guide the sales charge with a best-ever July total of 8,372 units, an increase of 45.6 percent. The GX 470 mid-size luxury utility vehicle recorded strong sales of 2,403 units.
