PRUETT TWO FOR TWO AT TROIS-RIVIÈRES
TROIS- RIVIÈRES, Quebec ‹ Scott Pruett continued his assault on the Le Grand
Prix de Trois-Rivières speed charts Friday, by setting the fastest time in
second round Trans-Am Series for the BFGoodrich Tires Cup practice. Pruett,
driver of the No. 7 Jaguar R Performance XKR, toured the 1.52-mile temporary
circuit in one minute, 3.851 seconds at an average speed of 85.739 miles per
hour.
Pruett, the only driver to break the one minute, three-second mark, beat
French Canadian Claude Bourbonnais, who turned a 1:04.525-minute lap in the
No. 3 Rocketsports Jaguar XKR. Johnny Miller was third fastest in the No. 64
Eaton Cutler-Hammer Jaguar XKR, followed by Tomy Drissi (No. 5 Stuck on You,
The Movie Jaguar XKR) and Stu Hayner (No. 2 GMAC Commercial Finance
Chevrolet Corvette).
Qualifying for tomorrow¹s Le Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières, Round 7 of the
2003 Trans-Am Series championship, is scheduled for 3:35 p.m. today. The
race is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 2, and will air LIVE on SPEED
Channel.
