Clarion to Supply CD Radios to Shanghai General Motors
DETROIT, July 31 -- Clarion Corporation of America announced today that their parent company, Clarion Company Ltd., will supply (OEM) AM/FM/CD radios, to Shanghai General Motors beginning in July, 2003. This is Clarions' first business with the joint venture of Shanghai Automotive Corporation and General Motors Corporation. Clarion's business enterprise and manufacturing partner, Dongguan Clarion Orient Electronics Company Ltd. will be responsible for the manufacture and delivery of the audio head units to Shanghai GM.
The contract involves the supply of two models, an AM/FM/CD radio and an AM/FM 6CD changer radio. The radios will be installed in the new mid-size Buick Excelle, which goes on sale in China this month.
