Revolution Motorsports On To Trois Rivieres
Hayner looking for missed opportunity
Detroit – July 31, 2003 – In 2002, Stu Hayner thrilled the Canadian
fans with a brilliant comeback. After being put in the wall on the
third lap of the Grand Prix du Trois Rivieres, Hayner charged back from
two laps down to finish sixth. Saturday, when the Trans-Am Series for
the BFGoodrich Cup returns to this historic event, Hayner plans on
putting the #2 GMAC / Trenton Forging Corvette right back in the hunt.
“We had a great car last year,” said Hayner. “We qualified well and the
car was hooked up… in fact, the car was very close to the car we just
ran in Cleveland last month. Based on our Cleveland run and what we did
here last year, I think we’re going to be strong right off the
transporter. This is a driver’s track. It’s hard on brakes and even
harder on your nerves. We’ll be tough here.”
Bobby Sak, driving the #10 Revolution Motorsports Corvette will
continue his battle for Rookie of the Year with Jorge Diaz and .
“I haven’t driven the Trans-Am car here, but last year in World
Challenge I was getting around the track pretty good.” Said Bobby.
“There’s a lot of room on the front stretch and heading into turn one.
That should allow the Corvettes to carry a lot of speed heading into to
turn two and down to the arches. But, like Stu said, brakes will be at
a premium. Even in World Challenge, guys were really using the car up
quickly here.”
Look for the #2 Corvette to carry the GMAC Commercial Finance colors
for this event and into Road America later in the month.
