Dorricott Racing: Trois-Rivieres Preview

               DORRICOTT RACING SEEKS SECOND HALF COMEBACK
                        BEGINNING THIS WEEKEND AT TROIS-RIVIERES

        TROIS-RIVIERES, Que., Canada (July 30, 2003) - There is still
plenty of room at the top of the Toyota Atlantic Championship standings for
second-half comebacks and that is the direction that Dorricott Racing and
Luis Diaz, of Mexico City, are headed in this weekend's eighth round of the
12-race series from the streets of Trois-Rivieres, Que., Canada. 

        The 45-lap (68.445 mile) Atlantic sprint around the 1.521-mile,
10-turn temporary street circuit is scheduled to drop the green flag at
1:00 p.m. ET, Sunday, Aug. 3. It is the featured race for the La Grand Prix
de Trois-Rivieres as it celebrates its 35th anniversary of providing
eastern Canada with outstanding professional racing.

        It will be Diaz's second visit to Trois-Rivieres where last year he
drove a near "text book" perfect race around Trois-Rivieres's extremely
narrow and "pass-unfriendly" circuit. Diaz qualified eighth and finished in
sixth place but not before displaying an impressive and gritty mid-race
comeback following an incident that nearly ended his day. Diaz's first
challenge came on lap 17 when Jonathon Macri attempted to pass another
driver. Macri failed but the consequence was losing control of his car and
sliding side-to-side into Diaz. Diaz had moved into sixth place at that
point, but fell three spots to ninth after the contact and skinning the
wall. Macri ended in the wall and 24th place. 

        Diaz continued but under painful duress from an injury he suffered
to his right forefinger caused by the wall contact. He was relentless in
his pursuit of the front-runners and recaptured lost positions plus one to
move into fifth place by lap 37. Rocky Moran Jr. was able to pass Diaz on
lap 41 but Diaz still brought the Telmex Swift 014a home to sixth place.

        Dorricott Racing had previously visited Trois-Rivieres in 1998 in
the Dayton Indy Lights Championship with drivers Philipp Peter and current
CART star Oriol Servia. Peter qualified sixth and finished 11th. Servia,
meanwhile, smoothly qualified on the outside pole and then finished second
place. 
 
This weekend's race track schedule (all times eastern) for Dorricott Racing

Fri., Aug. 1 -  Practice: 9:25 - 9:55 a.m.
                Provisional Qualifying: 2:55 - 3:25 p.m.

Sat., Aug. 2 -  Practice: 9:10 - 9:40 a.m.
                Final qualifying: 2:40 - 3:10 p.m.

Sun., Aug. 3 -  Warm-up: 8:45 - 9:00 a.m.
                RACE:   1:00 p.m.

        Speed Channel will provide a LIVE telecast of the Toyota Atlantic
Championship race from Trois-Rivieres beginning at 1:00 p.m. ET (10:00 a.m.
PT), Sunday, Aug. 4.
