Enova Systems Expands Global Reach in Medium and Heavy Duty Markets -- Tomoe Electric Manufacturing Co. of Japan
TORRANCE, Calif.--July 30, 2003--Enova Systems, Torrance, California (OTCBB:ENVA), a developer and manufacturer of mobile and stationary electric, hybrid and fuel cell digital power management systems, announced today that it has successfully integrated its Panther(TM) 90kW drive system into Tomoe's multi-car passenger hybrid electric tram. This is the first of several vehicle platforms for which Tomoe intends to use Enova's drive systems including the heavy-duty Panther(TM) 120kW and 240kW drive systems.Complemented by Enova's Panther electric drive train and a Capstone 30kW microturbine, the HEV system provides peak power of 90kW towing 6000kg passenger cars to reach a top speed of 30Kph without the need for line recharging. Tomoe has already delivered three hybrid-electric trams to a botanical garden in Okinawa and more systems for other recreational attractions are in planning.
