Auto Aftermarket Item Data Study Released Today
Scott Luckett, Vice President, Information Technology at the Automotive
Aftermarket Industry Association (AAIA) today announced that data errors on
basic product information cost the automotive aftermarket industry an
estimated $1.7 billion annually. Mr. Luckett made the announcement this
afternoon when he presented the results of the AAIA Electronic Commerce
Committee Product Information Case Study at the Aftermarket eForum in
Chicago.
Profile Systems, a provider of product data and supply chain management
solutions for business-to-business electronic commerce performed the study
and analyzed the data. Profile Systems has been involved in conducting
similar product data pilot programs in other industries and has assisted
hundreds of companies in managing their product data more efficiently.
