Copart Opens in Albany, New York
FAIRFIELD, Calif.--July 29, 2003--Copart, Inc. today announced that it has opened a salvage facility in Albany, New York. With the addition of this 14-acre greenfield location Copart now has 102 locations in 40 states."This new facility will service from Albany to the Canadian border," said Willis J. Johnson, Copart's Chief Executive Officer.
Since August 2002, Copart has added nine locations including two MAG sites in West Mifflin, PA and Richmond, VA and seven Copart salvage sites in Reno, NV; Springfield, MO; Corpus Christi, TX; Ft. Pierce, FL; Rancho Cucamonga, CA; Richmond, VA and Albany, NY.
Copart, founded in 1982, provides vehicle suppliers, primarily insurance companies, with a full range of services to process and sell salvage vehicles through auctions, principally to licensed vehicle dismantlers, rebuilders, repair licensees and used vehicle dealers. Salvage vehicles are either damaged vehicles deemed a total loss for insurance or business purposes or are recovered stolen vehicles for which an insurance settlement with the vehicle owner has already been made. The Company operates 102 facilities in 40 states. It also provides services in other locations through its national network of independent salvage vehicle processors.
