Fort Knox Names Schmiedt, Czerwonka to Senior Finance and Audit Positions

ELIZABETHTOWN, Ky., July 25 -- Fort Knox National Company (Fort Knox), a leading provider of electronic payment services, recently announced the appointment of two new senior leaders to the company's executive team.

Donald A. Schmiedt, CPA was named the company's new Vice President of Finance and Accounting, with responsibility for leading Fort Knox National's accounting, financial and management reporting, and purchasing operations. Schmiedt has nearly thirty years experience in senior financial leadership positions, most recently serving as Vice President of Accounting for Wallace's Bookstores, Inc. in Lexington, KY. A native of Cleveland, Don received his undergraduate in Business Administrative from Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio and his graduate in Accounting/Finance from the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Institute of Management Accountants.

James L. Czerwonka was appointed as Fort Knox National's Vice President, Director of Internal Audit, where he will be responsible for internal audit of the company's technology, processes, and operations. Czerwonka has over twenty years experience in technology consulting and audit, including senior positions with Ernst & Young, Great Financial Bank, Brown & Williamson, and Humana. He is a Certified Financial Services Auditor, a Certified Fraud Examiner, and a Certified Information Systems Auditor, as well as a member of the Institute for Internal Auditors, the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, and the Information Systems Audit and Control Association. He holds a B.A. from Bellarmine University.
