Universal Technical Institute Announces Formation Of New Industry Solutions Division; Names Julian Gorman Senior Vice President

PHOENIX, Ariz., July 21 -- Universal Technical Institute, Inc. -- one of the nation's leading providers of technical education training -- announced today that it has formed a new Industry Solutions Division in order to better support its business relationships. Former director of business-to-business sales, Julian Gorman, will serve as the division's senior vice president. The announcements were made by Kimberly McWaters, president of Universal Technical Institute.

The Industry Solutions division will be responsible for managing overall business relationships with new and existing manufacturers and dealers in the automotive, collision, repair and refinishing, and truck industries.

In order to bring Universal Technical Institute's manufacturer, dealer and student relationships into better alignment, the Industry Solutions team will manage dealer relations and industry relations, development and employment functions within the institute's organization.

"This new organizational structure, which is focused on the needs of our manufacturers, dealers and students, will afford us the opportunity to improve customer and student satisfaction while improving operational efficiencies," said McWaters.

About Julian Gorman

In September 2002, Julian Gorman joined Universal Technical Institute as the director of business-to-business sales. In this position he developed relationships with manufacturers and dealerships in the industries served by the school and implemented business solutions for the company.

"Julian has made significant contributions to our company in the short time he has worked here," stated McWaters. "He brings expertise and skill to our team at a time when we recognize that our relationships with businesses are a key factor in our plans for future growth and development."

Before joining Universal Technical Institute, Gorman served for 27 years at International Business Machines and Lexmark International, Inc., holding a number of positions in sales, planning and marketing. Gorman graduated from the University of Illinois with a bachelor's degree in liberal arts. He also earned a master of business administration degree from Northwestern University's Kellogg Graduate School of Management.
