CANNON NO. 11 AFTER TWO ROUNDS OF DENVER QUALIFYING

DENVER, Colo. (July 18, 2003) - Scotty Cannon put his Oakley Funny Car into
No. 11 position in the second round of qualifying with a solid run to the
finish line of the quarter mile, posting a 5.196-second pass at 288.46 mph.
With two Funny Cars left in the staging lanes, the remainder of this
qualifying session was cancelled due to rain, lightning and loss of
electricity in the Bandimere Speedway facility.

"We were trying to run a 5.0," said Cannon. "It was going to do it, but it
spun the tires real bad down there.

"We're happy with it, if it keeps us in the field. Qualifying in Denver is
good because everybody knows as long as you get qualified in Denver, come
Sunday it's anybody's race. As usual, we want more."
