AutoZone Hooks Up with G3 Boats and Yamaha Motor Corporation

Summer Boat Sweepstakes Begins at Over 3,000 AutoZone Locations Nationwide

MILWAUKEE, July 14 -- AutoZone Inc. will give away a bass fishing boat, motor and trailer worth over $21,000 as a part of its new national marine battery promotion and sweepstakes.

AutoZone is the sole distributor of Duralast(R) batteries and a leading distributor of Optima(R) marine batteries, both manufactured by Johnson Controls, Inc. To encourage customers to purchase Duralast or Optima Marine Batteries, AutoZone and Johnson Controls have launched the six-week promotion in over 3,000 participating stores nationwide. They have partnered with G3 Boats for a fully loaded 2003 HP180se bass fishing boat and with Yamaha Motor Corporation for a HPDI VMAX150 motor. The boat and motor, along with a trailer, will be awarded in September.

"Most people shop at AutoZone stores specifically for automotive parts and accessories. Giving away a G3 boat is an excellent way to convey the message that AutoZone also carries marine batteries," said Stephen Kepler, director of national accounts for Johnson Controls. "We encourage customers to come to AutoZone and enjoy the ease and convenience of purchasing their automotive parts and marine batteries all at the same location."

Consumers have the opportunity to enter to win the G3 bass boat at participating AutoZone locations nationwide through August 15, 2003. There is no purchase necessary to enter or win. Entrants must be legal residents of the Continental U.S. and must be at least 21 years of age at the time of entry.

Entry forms can be found at participating AutoZone locations in the U.S., and must be postmarked by August 30 and received by September 8 to qualify for the drawing. The winner will be drawn on September 15, 2003. Customers can visit www.stirmarketing.com/poweronthewater for official rules and details.
