CASCAR Super Series Avenue ACDelco 100 Qualifying & Starting Grid July 12, 2003 Buck wins the pole for the Avenue ACDelco 100 CASCAR Super Series race at the Toronto Indy TORONTO, ON Saturday morning's lone qualifying session for the Avenue ACDelco 100 CASCAR Super Series race at the Toronto Indy started under wet conditions. But by the end of the half hour session on the 11-turn street circuit, the racing surface had dried to the point where several drivers were able to post some quick times. Robin Buck of Campbellville, ON toured the Exhibition Place track in 1:25.882, which translated into a speed of 118.376 km/h. His pole-winning lap was almost a full second quicker than that of Jeff Lapcevich, who will line up alongside of Buck for the start of the scheduled 36-lap race, which will start at 5:15 p.m. on Saturday afternoon. The result was a familiar one for Buck, who has collected four poles in five years at the Toronto Indy. Dating back to CASCAR's inaugural appearance in 1999, Buck has been the top qualifier for this race in every year but 2000, when Peter Gibbons earned the honour. A total of 37 drivers qualified for the Avenue ACDelco 100, the fifth round of the CASCAR Super Series tour.
