New Orders and Installations for KleenAir
IRVINE, Calif.--July 8, 2003--KleenAir Systems Inc. (OTCBB:KAIR), an international environmental company dedicated to the development, testing and commercialization of products to help reduce smog and air pollution, today announced that the Company has received additional orders from its European systems integrator.Initial shipments by KleenAir of its Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) systems to Dinex A/S have already been installed on passenger buses in Copenhagen, and are being prepared for installation on buses in London, Manchester, Liverpool, Bristol, Leeds and Birmingham in the UK. Additional installations on Refuse Collection Vehicles (RCV) and Mercedes Sprinter 16 passenger buses are being planned for a number of UK local authorities.
"Since first deliveries and installation by Dinex of KleenAir's NOx Reduction Systems in the UK and Denmark, the level of interest and activity has increased substantially," said Peter Lambe, Managing Director of Dinex Exhausts Ltd., "and a recent demonstration to senior officials from the Department For Transport (DFT), the Energy Savings Trust (EST) and Transport For London (TFL) of a bus equipped with KleenAir's SCR system in combination with Dinex's Diesel Particulate filter was a major step forward in establishing KleenAir technology as the front-runner in retrofit SCR systems for the UK."
Emission testing of KleenAir's SCR system at the Danish Research Institute in Aarhus, Denmark has achieved NOx reduction levels of over 90% for simulated urban bus cycles. Additional tests are planned using the SOBRIS urea and aqueous ammonia injection system from ServoTech Engineering, Inc. of Detroit.
ServoTech has been licensed by Ford Motor Company to manufacture and market a unique Ford-developed On-Board Reductant Injection System for use in SCR systems. This technology helps meet tighter emission standards for diesel engines. Quotations have been provided by KleenAir, the marketing agent for ServoTech, to a number of European and US OEM automobile manufacturers for integration into vehicles to meet Euro 4 and Euro 5 emission standards.
Following a determination by the London Public Carriage Office (PCO), it is now projected that the first phase of the London taxi emissions upgrade will apply to some 13,500 registered cabs with a goal to complete installation before the end of 2004. While the emissions requirement will apply to both Particulates and NOx, KleenAir is the most viable system included on the EST Clean-up Register for NOx reduction.
