Manhattan Associates' Supply Chain Execution Solutions to Support Complex Automotive Logistics Operation

Manhattan Associates' Supply Chain Execution Solutions to be Deployed at BMW's Central Parts Distribution Center at Dingolfing in Germany

LONDON and MUNICH, July 8 -- Manhattan Associates, Inc. , the global leader in supply chain execution solutions, today announced that it has been awarded a new contract in the automotive industry. Its Warehouse Management System (WMS) will be deployed at BMW's Central Parts Distribution Center (DC) in Dingolfing, Bavaria.

The WMS to be deployed, Manhattan Associates' Warehouse Management for Open Systems, is designed to give companies flexibility and scalability. It enables the handling of large order volumes while optimizing distribution center processes. Fundamentally, it enables simultaneous access by a large number of users and contains functionality for the efficient processing of goods in the receipt, picking, packing and shipping of orders. The solution is interfaced with many leading business enterprise applications.

The Dingolfing DC supplies parts to dealers in the Southern region of Germany, Regional Distribution Centers within Germany and in overseas markets, and various importers around the world. The deployment of the software at the central parts warehouse is expected to be a precursor to further implementations of the system at the Regional Distribution Centers throughout Europe and overseas. Under consideration for deployment at a later stage in the project are Manhattan Associates' Slotting Optimization and Performance Management applications.
