           retailer, celebrates the opening of its 25,000th store worldwide.

   WHY:    The opening of its 25,000th store worldwide marks 7-Eleven's
           place as one of the largest global retailers.  To honor the
           occasion, the chain's newest store in Chicago is celebrating with
           day-long specials and entertainment.  The Chicago store also
           marks 7-Eleven's trend in urban development; this is the
           company's ninth store in the greater downtown Chicago area.
