Dorricott Racing - Final Qualifying Report (CLE)

                        DIAZ QUALIFIED EIGHTH BUT WILL START IN THE BACK;
KRISILOFF IMPROVES TIMES BUT WILL START 11TH

CLEVELAND, Ohio (July 4) - - It wasn't quite the Independence Day
celebration Dorricott Racing expected but drivers and crew will still be
ready to challenge for the podium in Saturday's sixth round of the 12-race
Toyota Atlantic Championship in Cleveland.

After posting an outside pole in provisional qualifying, Luis Diaz
appeared headed for a serious pole challenge but couldn't seem to do much
beyond his fast time on Thursday. It wasn't until a post-qualifying car
inspection that a crack in the tub of the Telmex Swift 014a was discovered.
A late night for Diaz's crew resulted in a back-up car being readied for
Saturday's race. The good news was the defect was found. The bad news was
Diaz's eighth fastest qualifying time would be disallowed because CART
rules dictate that any change of a car requires the driver to start in the
rear of the starting grid.

Times for Kyle Krisiloff improved tremendously as he clicked off
nearly two-seconds from his fastest laps on Thursday. However, it wasn't
enough to bump up on the grid albeit he will start 11th due to Diaz's
changed position.

A.J. Allmendinger will start from the pole after setting a Toyota
Atlantic track record at Burke Lakefront Airport with a lap of 1:04.927
(116.771 mph).

Allmendinger, the current points leader in the CART Toyota Atlantic
Championship, already earned one point for taking the provisional pole in
Thursday's first round of qualifying. By going quicker to retain the pole
today, Allmendinger earned a second championship point, extending his lead
to eight (81-73) over Scotland's Ryan Dalziel heading into the race.

Saturday's schedule at the Argent Mortgage Toyota Atlantic 100k
calls for a
15-minute warm-up session beginning at 2:00 p.m. ET, and will be followed
at 5:30 p.m. by Round 6 of the 12-race 2003 CART Toyota Atlantic
Championship. The scheduled distance is 32 laps (67.392 miles), but is
subject to a 50-minute time limit.

The PEE Channel will carry tape-delayed coverage of the Argent
Mortgage Toyota Atlantic 100k at 1:00 p.m. ET (10:00 a.m. PT) on Sunday,
July 6.
