SHANE LEWIS RACES TO SECOND IN GUNNAR PORSCHE AT DAYTONA

DAYTONA, Fla., July 4, 2003 - Shane Lewis raced to second in GTS class,
seventh overall, in the Paul Revere 250 at Daytona International Speedway
(DIS), which started late in the evening, July 3rd, and ended early in the
morning, July 4th. Lewis, of Jupiter, Fla., co-drove the No. 6 Gunnar Racing
Porsche GT1 G99 with Peter Baron, Deerfield Beach, Fla. and Kyle Petty,
Randleman, N.C. Starting from ninth on the grid, Lewis had not driven the
sophisticated Porsche 911-based super car until race day. The podium finish
also marked Lewis’ first Grand American Rolex Series start of the season.

“The guys at Gunnar did an awesome job, absolutely awesome job,” celebrated
Lewis after taking the checkered flag behind the wheel of the Gunnar Racing
Porsche. “It was a good second place finish. Peter started the car, Kyle got
in second and I drove third. I knew my job was to bring the car home. The
track was pretty slick at the end and we drove the entire race on one set of
tires but the Porsche was just incredible. I definitely want to drive this
car again. Racing with Peter and Kyle was a real pleasure. I definitely have
to thank Kevin (Jeannette, owner, Gunnar Racing) for asking me to drive with
his guys; Martin (crew chief), Danny, John, Jack and Doug for putting
together such a strong car.”

The Paul Revere 250 will be televised on the SPEED Channel today at 3 pm
(EDT).

Shane Lewis is the 1998 Professional Sports Car Racing Rising Star award
winner and is a multiple race winner in IMSA, SCCA Pro and Grand-Am
sanctioned events. The popular Lewis drives for ACEMCO Motorsports in the
American Le Mans Series (ALMS) and recently led the prestigious 24 Hours of
Le Mans driving the ACEMCO Automotive Ferrari 360 GT Modena. He is also a
regular on the Grand-Am Cup circuit as lead driver in the #20 Nuzzo
Motorsports/ Lava Records Mini Cooper S.
