His teammate, Bobby Sak [#10 Revolution Motorsports Corvette] picked up the sixth position on the starting grid for Friday’s 100-mile shootout on the tarmac at Burke Lakefront Airport. “We’re doing everything possible to get the Corvette up into the mix,” said Hayner. “We’ve got plenty of straight line speed and horsepower, but until we get more downforce on the nose, we’re just going to have to deal with what the Series has given us. We’re constantly qualifying faster than we did a year ago. We’re getting around as fast as that Corvette will go.” Bobby Sak was pleased to find himself up-to-speed and right in the thick of the quick group. “We’re going to try a couple of things in tomorrow’s warm-up,” said Bobby… “we think there’s a little more in the car. All-in-all though, I’m pretty pleased. This is a fun track because there are basically no walls. That gives you a little more confidence to try things. You can push a little harder and know that if you run out of talent you won’t “kit” the car.” To honor and celebrate Independence Day, the cars of Revolution Motorsports will feature a custom Stars & Stripes graphic theme for the Cleveland event.
