AAA Texas: Weekend Gas Watch; Gasoline Prices Hold Steady For The 4th of July Holiday
HOUSTON--July 4, 2003--Gasoline prices are holding steady for the Fourth of July Holiday, according to the Weekend Gas Watch, compiled by AAA Texas. The Weekend Gas Watch monitors the average price of gasoline at popular destinations for motoring trips.The statewide average price for a gallon of regular self-serve is $1.39 a gallon, the same as last week's average, and about six cents higher than last year's average of $1.32. Motorists in Dallas are paying the most for a gallon of gasoline $1.41 a gallon - no change since last week. While motorists in Corpus Christi still have the lowest price of nearly $1.33 a gallon - slightly more than a penny lower than last week's average.
"Gasoline prices appear to be settling since reaching record highs in March," said Rose Rougeau, spokesperson for AAA Texas. "This is welcome news to the nearly three million Texans who are expected to hit the roadways for the Fourth of July Holiday this weekend."
