Audi and SAVOY Magazine Present Audi SAVOY Jazz Unwrapped
All-Day Festival of Eclectic Jazz Created as Venue to Showcase the All-New 2004 Audi A8 L to Multicultural Audience
NEW YORK, July 2 -- SAVOY magazine, the premier lifestyle publication for affluent African Americans, and Audi of America, Inc., one of the world's leading manufacturers of performance-oriented luxury cars, announced today that they will partner to debut Audi SAVOY Jazz Unwrapped, a day-long festival bringing the melodious sounds of eclectic jazz to the New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC).
Audi SAVOY Jazz Unwrapped will premiere Saturday, July 26, 2003 at NJPAC, one of the country's most prestigious performing arts venues. Performances will feature a lineup of some of the country's most renowned musicians, representing a variety of sounds from traditional jazz to neo-soul. Participating musicians include: Rachelle Ferrell (featuring Russ Barnes), The Joe Sample Trio, Alex Bugnon, Maysa, Mike Phillips, Marcus Johnson, and Carla Cook.
Audi and SAVOY magazine jointly developed this program to serve as one of Audi of America's launching pads for its introduction of the all-new, all- aluminum 2004 Audi A8 L. Audi's flagship vehicle, the world's most intelligently designed car, will be showcased on-site for attendees to observe at their leisure. Knowledgeable product specialists will be present to perform vehicle walkarounds and answer consumer questions.
"The sophistication and imagination of the Audi brand are a natural fit for SAVOY's savvy African American audience," said Gary Lewis, National Marketing Director of Vanguarde Media, SAVOY's publisher. "As evidenced by the most recent census numbers, the affluent segment of the African American consumer market is growing rapidly. Audi clearly recognizes the value of that audience. We are excited about partnering with them on this innovative event program to provide direct access to some of the most influential consumers in the country."
"Multicultural marketing continues to grow in importance in the marketplace," said Mary Ann Wilson, Audi National Advertising Manager. "Audi is proud to host a prestigious festival like the Audi SAVOY Jazz Unwrapped festival at NJPAC, which so appropriately appeals to the Audi target prospect."
