SmarTire Showcases Products in Australia

RICHMOND, BC, July 2 -- SmarTire Systems Inc. (SMTR:OTCBB) announces that the Company's innovative line of tire monitoring products has been successfully introduced into Australia at the inaugural Australian Automotive Aftermarket Association (AAAA) exhibition that took place June 19-21, 2003 in Melbourne.

Autron Electronics Pty Ltd., the Company's Australian distributor, showcased SmarTire tire pressure and temperature monitoring systems at the event. Autron staff conducted product demonstrations using a Mazda MX5 equipped with patented Transmitters within each tire of the vehicle and a Full Function Display unit located on the dash. An enthusiastic response was received from original equipment manufacturers, car importers, commercial distributors/fleets, tire retailers, car accessory distributors and tire and wheel manufacturers. Autron received three awards at the exhibition including a bronze award for best new aftermarket product featuring SmarTire's tire monitoring system, and two silver awards for excellence in marketing and manufacturing.

Attending the Melbourne trade show in support of Autron, Nigel Hammond, SmarTire Europe's General Manager commented, "The demand for tire safety products is now front page industry news in Australia.
