TARGET TEAM FACTS:

-Chassis: Team Target will race chassis #003 at Daytona. This is the same car that Mears raced at Talladega earlier this season.

-Daytona: In his first Winston Cup start at DIS, Mears finished 27th in the Daytona 500 earlier this year. He led his first lap of his Winston Cup career in that race. It was also the only lap he has led thus far this season.

-Raybestos Rookie: In the first race of 2003, Mears became the first rookie to lead a lap and the only rookie to lead a lap in the Daytona 500. Mears and Jamie McMurray are the first teammate rookies to compete for Raybestos Rookie of the Year honors. Mears is currently third in Raybestos rookie of the year standings.
