Delphi Displays First In-Dash Radio Side By Side With The First Portable Satellite Radio

TROY, Mich., July 2 -- Delphi Product & Service Solutions, part of Delphi Corporation , kicked off a National Tour for the Industry's first portable satellite radio -- the new Delphi XM SKYFi(TM) Satellite Radio. The Tour, a self-contained road show display, decked out with all the latest in consumer electronics from Delphi, will also showcase the very first ever in-dash radio, made by Delphi, back in 1936.

Delphi, a pioneer of in-vehicle entertainment and electronics, and XM, America's leading satellite radio service, teamed to offer the industry's first fully-portable satellite radio in 2002 -- the SKYFi radio receiver, an attractive, compact unit that provides the most advanced user features of any satellite radio on the market today.

The tour will cover 25 stops within the contiguous United States, including appearances in major cities such as Boston, Chicago, Pittsburgh, Baltimore and St. Louis, as well as other venues in Iowa, Minnesota, Texas, Colorado, Utah and California over the next six months. "We feel it's important to get the SKYFi out into public venues where people can experience it for themselves," said Francisco A. (Frank) Ordonez, President, Delphi Product & Service Solutions and Vice President, Delphi Corporation. "We know we have a winner with SKYFi and we also want to show the breadth of our electronics expertise along with our products of the future."

The display features images of several in-dash products which were industry firsts including multi-button radio, digital tuner, transistor radio and satellite radio. Delphi's Mobile Communication, Navigation and Video products displayed will be marketed through major consumer electronics retailers later this year.

In addition to the stop at Delphi World Headquarters in Troy, Michigan, the tour stopped at the Summer Celebration in Muskegon last weekend and will return to Michigan for the 9th annual Woodward Dream Cruise in August. The complete line of SKYFi products are available at Best Buy, Circuit City and Wal-Mart stores nationwide; online or via catalog through Crutchfield, the nation's largest catalog retailer for electronics; and at numerous regional consumer electronics retailers.
