Revolution Motorsports - Cleveland Preview
Revolution Motorsports Ready To Rock
Hayner looks to repeat last year’s podium finish
Detroit – July 1, 2003 – With half the Trans-Am Series for the
BFGoodrich Tires Cup schedule complete, Stu Hayner [#2 Trenton Forging
/ GMAC Commercial Finance Corvette] is focused on making gains in the
second half. Bobby Sak [#10 Revolution Motorsports Corvette] is still
optimistic about his efforts to capture the rookie title.
“We’re heading in to Cleveland with hopes of repeating last year’s
success,” said Hayner, who finished third in 2002. “I’ve traditionally
done well on this track,” he continued. “This track has lots of room,
dial-a-thrill surface changes and some good straights where we can put
down some horsepower. I like it here!”
Regarding the team’s position in the standings; “We’ve had some tough
breaks in the first half,” Hayner noted. “But we’re in much better
shape than we were this time last year. I think the team is focused and
we know what we have to do. We’ve established our objective…. and right
now, it’s not Scott Pruett or Johnny Miller. We’re going after Diaz and
Lewis. We are knocking on the door for third place and feel it is where
we belong. When we’ve secured third spot we’ll reassess and go from
there.”
Bobby Sak also had a good run at Cleveland last year.
“This was almost a coming out party for me last year,” said the young
Rookie. “It was probably the first time I really felt like I belonged
out there. I think I gained a lot of respect from the other teams too.
I just felt really good out there.”
“I’m trying to put the Rookie points battle out of my mind and just
take it one race at a time. We’ve had some bad luck in the first half…
but that can go both ways. The schedule shows five more races and I
plan on racing each and everyone of them… hard. I still feel we can get
it done.”
