American Suzuki Sales Are Up Nine Percent Over June 2002

BREA, Calif., July 1 -- Bolstered by strong SUV sales, American Suzuki sold 6,260 units for the period and 32,084 for the calendar year. The XL-7, Suzuki's right-sized SUV, notched 3,231 sales for the month -- a bold 44 percent increase of its sales over June 2002. The Vitara, Suzuki's entry-level SUV, also made a strong showing, marking a 15 percent increase over June last year. The Grand Vitara notched 707 sales for the period and the Aerio sedan and SX sold 1,845 units, boosting monthly sales up nine percent, based on the daily selling rate.
