Xybernaut and Braintech Deliver Comprehensive Support Solution to Automakers and Industrial Manufacturers

    FAIRFAX, Va. & NORTH VANCOUVER, B.C.--July 1, 2003--

North American Automakers to Beta-Test Integrated Solution to Remotely Support 3D-Vision Guided Robotics Systems on Factory Floor

Xybernaut(R) Corporation and Braintech, Inc. (OTCBB:BRHI) today announced the signing of a teaming and co-marketing agreement under which Braintech will integrate Xybernaut's mobile/ wearable computing technology into the Braintech eSupport System (BeSS(TM)) to advance support of vision guided robotics (VGR) systems utilized in industrial manufacturing processes.
"Our mission is to provide industry with solutions that support our customers' goal of achieving a 'lean manufacturing' strategy," stated Owen Jones, CEO of Braintech. "This means: making machines intelligent and flexible and empowering plant employees with enhanced capability and efficiency."
"Our first solution, eVF(TM), gives robots the eyes to help move and assemble products with greater efficiency and precision. Our newest technology offering, BeSS, has been designed to provide factory workers with 'just-in-time' support. By collaborating with Xybernaut, we can deliver support over their wireless, wearable devices to the factory floor, and, as a result, provide a significant gain in productivity and machine uptime," Jones added.
Braintech and Xybernaut have already initiated efforts to co-develop the integrated platform. The joint solution will undergo initial testing as part of Braintech's 3-D Vision Guided Robotics systems currently in operation with several North American automakers.
Braintech's BeSS infrastructure is a scaleable, distributed, decentralized support network geared towards delivering remote Internet-based, technical support for industrial automated systems. When combined with Xybernaut Mobile Assistant(R) V (MA(R) V) and/or Atigo(TM) wearable computers, benefits to customers include mobility, enhanced functionality, inter connectivity between operational teams.
"This growing relationship will focus on exploiting the natural synergy between Xybernaut's wearable/computing devices and Braintech's innovative, industrial support solutions," stated Xybernaut President Steven Newman. "This is an excellent example of working with third-parties in selected industry sectors. This strengthens our position as a solution provider to the worldwide automotive industry. We look forward to working closely with Braintech to realize immediate success through this relationship."
Leading corporate users of Braintech's technology include Ford Motor Company, General Motors Corp., TI Automotive, and Delphi. The Company has also established marketing alliances with two of the world's largest industrial providers- ABB in the Americas and Europe, and Marubeni in Asia and Australia.
