CHICAGO--July 1, 2003--Great American Group, one of the nation's leading asset management firms, will be conducting the auction for Chicago Motor Speedway/ Sportsman's Park on Tuesday, July 8, 2003 at the race track location: 3301 South Laramie Avenue, Cicero, Illinois, ten miles from downtown Chicago.After 70 years of racing history, Chicago Motor Speedway/ Sportsman's Park is taking a permanent pit stop. The dual-purpose facility is one of only two in the US, and combines a one-mile oval auto racing track with a seven-furlong horse racing track. More than 60,000 roaring fans packed the stadium for the annual CART, Target Grand Prix and other turbo-charged NASCAR and Concert events.
