Terry Borcheller - Mid-Ohio double win

two wins and a pole

Terry Borcheller scored a double victory - with one win from the pole
position - at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio. The Phoenix driver
topped both the June 28 Rolex Sports Car Series race and the June 29 Grand-Am Cup
race on the technical 2.258-mile road course.

Borcheller started the Rolex Series race from the pole position after
qualifying the No. 54 Bell Motorsports Doran JE4 in one minute 23.132 seconds. He
held the lead through most of his first stint, then handed off to Forest Barber
of Fort Worth, Tex. Borcheller returned for the final stint on the lead lap,
despite a broken swaybar. He worked back up through the field, took the lead
just past the second hour of the two-hour 45-minute race and held it for an
8.623-second margin of victory.

Borcheller and Barber also teamed for victory in the two-hour 30-minute
Grand-Am Cup GS race at Mid-Ohio, driving the No. 54 Bell Motorsports BMW M3.
Barber qualified and started ninth in the GSII class, but moved up to second
before handing off to Borcheller for the second stint. Borcheller set the fastest
class lap just three laps before the finish (1:37.14), took the class lead on
the final lap and held it for the win.

seven doubles

"What a phenomenal weekend. It doesn't get any better!" Borcheller smiled.
"I thought it was the first time I had a double win at the same track, but
[statistician] Dave Arnold told me it was the seventh! I'm very thankful because
it's an unbelievable feat - it's so hard to win once, much less twice in the
same weekend. The team was phenomenal on preparation of the cars."
