Friday Practice 1 Notes at Mid-Ohio
- The first of two 30 minutes practice sessions begins under sunny skies and
warm temperatures.
- The majority of the field has gone out on sticker tires.
- Early in the session the drivers are scrubbing in tires and continuing to
work on car setup.
- No. 91 Kimball pits early in the session and returns to the paddock with a
broken rear wishbone.
- No. 53 Langbein has done very few laps due to overheating.
- Midway through the session No. 58 returns to the paddock with a loose
front wheel.
- Several drivers have begun to post some quick times late in the session.
- The Zetec Championship cars are the fastest cars competing over the
weekend, posting lap times one to two seconds quicker than the Rolex Series
Daytona Prototypes, which have approximately 500 horsepower.
- Late in the session No. 5 Haynie returns to the paddock with no fuel.
- The second and final 30 minute practice session commences at 3:10 p.m.
Qualifying for Rounds Five and Six will be run on Saturday, June 28.
