Lead Singer of Hit Rock Band to Accept Contribution to Leukemia Foundation in Honor of Late Son; Steve Harwell of Smash Mouth and UVA Children's Medical Center to Receive Donations From Camp Jeep on Saturday, June 28
What: Steve Harwell, lead singer of Smash Mouth, whose hit singles include "All Star," "Can't get enough of you baby" and "Walkin' on the sun," will accept a check from Chrysler for $5,000 on behalf of the Presley Scott Research Foundation. Harwell created the Foundation after losing his six- month-old son to Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia.
Chrysler will also present a check to the University of Virginia Medical Center.
After the check presentations, Camp Jeep will host the patients, their families and hospital staff as they participate in a wide variety of activities available on-site. They also will have the opportunity to attend the "Jeep Jubilee" concert on Saturday evening featuring musical group Smash Mouth.
