Electric Vehicles 'ZAP!' Lansing, Michigan
LANSING, Mich., June 26 -- Lansing residents now have several ways to 'ZAP' the rising price of gas with some new battery powered vehicles from ZAP (BULLETIN BOARD: ZAPZ) . The California electric transportation pioneer announced today that its electric cars, scooters, bicycles and more are now available in Lansing, Michigan at ZAP Michigan.
ZAP Michigan, at 5104 S. Pennsylvania Ave. in Lansing, is having its Grand Opening this weekend. This is the newest authorized dealer for ZAP(R), a pioneer in electric propulsion technologies since 1994. A recognized leader in electric transportation, ZAP has sold more than 80,000 electric vehicles to customers around the world. Now, visitors to ZAP Michigan will be able to see the latest in transportation, from the ZAP L.U.V.(TM) electric car, to the ZAPPY(R) portable electric scooter, ZAP POWERBIKE(R) electric bicycles -- even ZAP's new SEA-DOO(R) SEASCOOTER(TM) for swimming, diving and snorkeling. ZAP, which stands for Zero Air Pollution, is working to establish a national network of zero-emission, battery powered transportation. ZAP Michigan Owner John J. Pavlik says he's excited to bring ZAP to the Lansing area.
"Since discovering the ZAP line of battery powered transportation at the Computer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, I've been very excited about their cutting edge technology and what it could bring to Michigan's recreational industry; not to mention the unlimited college campus alternative transportation opportunities right here in the MSU's backyard," says Pavlik.
ZAP, which pioneered the market for electric scooters, bicycles and motorcycles, announced in January it will enter the electric car market. The company is now offering the ZAP L.U.V., a 25 MPH neighborhood electric car, and is working to develop a L.U.V.-Line of electric cars, pickups, vans, tractors and more for a variety of applications. ZAP CEO Steve Schneider says that rising gas prices and concerns over oil are creating demand for transportation alternatives.
"We're excited to be working with entrepreneurs like John Pavlik who share our vision of advanced transportation," said Schneider. "As we speak, ZAP is talking to more dealers across the nation and around the world about 'ZAPPING' their communities with clean, quiet, fun, zero-emission vehicles. ZAP dealers will be at the forefront of transportation and we welcome new dealers to join the ZAP team."
ZAP Michigan is now open at 5104 S. Pennsylvania Avenue and can be reached by phone at 888-828-1511. Hours for the Grand Opening are Friday and Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Sunday Noon to 3:00 p.m. For more information on ZAP products or to become a ZAP dealer, visit http://www.zapworld.com/ or call 800-251-4555.
