Indigo Systems Elects Harvard-based Stephen P. Kaufman to Board

GOLETA, Calif., June 26 -- Indigo Systems Corporation, a global provider of infrared (IR) cameras and camera systems, announces the election of Stephen P. Kaufman to its Board of Directors. Mr. Kaufman is currently a Senior Lecturer of Business Administration at the Harvard Business School. Affiliated with the Technology and Operations Management unit, he teaches primarily in the MBA program. Mr. Kaufman served as Chief Executive Officer of Arrow Electronics, Inc. from 1986 to July 2000 and retired as Chairman of the Board in 2002. His leadership took Arrow's gross revenue growth from $300 million when he was appointed CEO, to $13 billion by the year 2000. Recipient of the Distinguished Alumni Achievement Award from the Harvard Business School in 1997, Mr. Kaufman served on Arrow Electronics' board until recently and continues as a board director of Harris Corporation (NYSE), KLA-Tencor (Nasdaq), and Viacore, a private Internet-related company.

"Steve Kaufman's leadership in global distribution systems and his expertise in high tech marketing make him the ideal fifth member of Indigo Systems' Board of Directors," states E. Tim Fitzgibbons, President and CEO of Indigo Systems. "His election to the board coincides with a critical growth juncture at Indigo Systems, as the company sits primed to leap from a medium-sized company to a larger entity," he continued. Indigo Systems was recently named by Deloitte & Touche as one of the 500 fastest growing technology companies in North America. The revenue growth rate for fiscal 2001 was 844% since inception five years ago. Gross revenues for fiscal 2002 topped $37 million.

"I look forward to working with the other board members who have navigated this company's remarkable ascendency to date," states Stephen P. Kaufman, new board member. "My hope is to complement the company's strengths by applying my marketing experience in the global high-tech arena to Indigo's strategic and rapid growth. I'm delighted to be part of the team at Indigo Systems, as we continue the expansion to supply the world market with custom and superior IR imaging systems for commercial and military needs," he adds.

Mr. Kaufman received his B.S. degree in economics and engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1963 and his MBA from the Harvard Business School in 1965. He received an honorary doctorate degree from Dowling College in 1995.
