Tonka race truck production photos
on www.stranaracing.com
COLUMBUS, OH (June 25, 2003) – The Super Truck Racing Association of North
America (STRANA) has created a photo documentary of the production of its first race
truck on www.stranaracing.com.
When finished, that truck – which will be the Tonka race truck – will be used in this
summer’s Tonka 2003 Super Truck Celebrity Challenge events. Three other trucks are
also under construction at Elan Motorsports Technologies in Braselton, GA. The Web
site documentary will be updated regularly.
“North American motorsports fans, track officials, and the massive trucking and
transportation industry are excited to have a super truck racing series to call their own,”
said Brian Till, STRANA executive director. “This photo documentary allows us to share
our development and the excitement around it with them.
“The miracle of the Web allows the world to see first hand that building a race series
from scratch is no small undertaking, and involves the time and dedication of many
talented individuals,” said Till. “This is our way of recognizing their accomplishments as
well.”
STRANA suppliers include Alcoa, Continental Tires, Haldex, ArvinMeritor, ZF,
Stack and Shields.
Based in suburban Columbus, Ohio, STRANA is the governing body for class-8 super
truck racing in North America. Its mission is to promote super truck racing and the trucking
and transportation industry.
