Federal-Mogul's Frankfort Manufacturing Facility Receives Quality Accolades From Mazda

SOUTHFIELD, Mich., June 25 -- Federal-Mogul Corporation's Frankfort, Indiana, sealing manufacturing facility has earned the Quality Assurance Certification System Award from Mazda Motor Co.

The quality award recognizes companies for achieving zero customer complaints and zero defective parts for the 2002 production year.

"All of our employees are committed and we are continually improving to make processes more robust to meet our customer's quality needs."

Each year, the Frankfort facility manufactures more than 350,000 servo pistons that are exported to Japan and used in the transmission of the Mazda 626 Sedan along with other Japanese models sold in Japan.

Mazda recognizes its quality suppliers yearly. Federal-Mogul's Frankfort facility is again meeting the automaker's quality standards at the halfway point of 2003, with no customer complaints or defective parts.

Federal-Mogul's Frankfort facility manufactures radial lip oil seals, transmission seals and unipistons for original equipment and aftermarket applications. The facility began operations in 1964 and today employs approximately 820 people.
