Flow International's Avure Technologies Receives Multi-Million Dollar Orders For QUINTUS(R) Flexform(TM) Presses

KENT, Wash., June 24 -- Avure Technologies Incorporated, a wholly owned subsidiary of Flow International Corporation , today announced two major flexible forming press orders. Huskvarna Prototyper AB of Sweden ordered one new press in addition to purchasing a capacity upgrade to an existing unit. The second press was ordered by a major United States aerospace supplier.

Huskvarna has launched a comprehensive program to expand and improve its prototype and short run production center in Sweden. The new multi-million dollar fluid cell press, scheduled for shipment in December 2003, will be used to produce sheet metal components for Huskvarna's customers in the automotive, appliance and aerospace industries. With the purchase of an additional forming table, Huskvarna will also double its production capacity on an existing Avure press.

Anders Anderson, the Chairman of the Board of Huskvarna, said, "We depend on Avure's technology and service to support our customers in Sweden and throughout Europe. These orders allow us to expand our markets by more than tripling our capacity to supply sheet metal prototypes and short run parts in our new Flexforming center."

The second press, with an order value over $1 million, will be used by a major US aerospace supplier to form sheet metal components for their commercial and military product lines. The circular Flexform press is expected to ship by the end of June 2003.

Avure's Flexform press design, with its wire-winding process to add strength and resist fatigue, requires only a single rigid die component and a universal flexible rubber diaphragm to form intricate prototype or short run parts with high precision. This unique approach results in shorter lead times, lower tool costs and simple tool modifications to accommodate product design changes. With its high-pressure capability, parts can be quickly crafted to the most exacting quality specifications, serving to eliminate multiple manufacturing steps and reduce hand finishing.

Avure's industrial presses have earned a reputation for high quality and dependability in daily service around the world. Pat Adams, President and CEO of Avure Technologies Incorporated, commented, "We are pleased to receive these new press orders in two key industry segments. Investment in this advanced technology gives manufacturers the opportunity to upgrade their operations, reduce their lead times and respond more quickly to their customers."
