Save Mart Supermarkets Signs Multi-Year Agreement with Infineon Raceway

SONOMA, Calif.--June 24, 2003--Save Mart Supermarkets has signed a multi-year agreement to continue as title sponsor of the annual NASCAR Winston Cup event at Infineon Raceway, track officials announced today.
The partnership continues the raceway's long-standing relationship with Save Mart Supermarkets, a Modesto-based grocery chain. Save Mart has been either the title sponsor or co-title sponsor of the NASCAR Winston Cup event at Infineon Raceway since 1992.
"In my 20 years in this industry, I've never been involved in a promotional relationship that works as well on so many levels," said Steve Page, president and general manager of Infineon Raceway. "From the Chairman of the company to the sales clerks in the individual stores, the team at Save Mart is enthusiastic and engaged to make this program work for their customers and our fans. We couldn't be more delighted to be making this announcement today."
Save Mart served as sole title sponsor of the NASCAR Winston Cup event from 1992-1997 and has combined with partners as co-title sponsor of the event since 1998. The last three years, the event has been known as the Dodge/Save Mart 350. The new agreement is for five years, extending through 2008.
"NASCAR racing is a great marketing fit for us" said Bob Piccinini, chairman of Save Mart Supermarkets. "Eighty-percent of the team sponsors are companies that make the same products we carry in our stores. Our customers have been very receptive to our sponsorship of the NASCAR Winston Cup race at Infineon Raceway, and we are looking forward to another five years."
