Collins & Aikman Receives 2003 Mitsubishi Supplier Award
TROY, Mich., June 23 -- Collins & Aikman Corporation today announced that it has received a 2003 Mitsubishi Supplier Award. Of over three hundred suppliers to Mitsubishi Motors North America (MMNA), Collins & Aikman was one of only twenty-five North American suppliers to receive this recognition. The award was presented to Ryan Graham, program manager for Mitsubishi accounts, Tim Brown, Mitsubishi account coordinator, and Tom Leppla, planning manager for Collins & Aikman's Holmesville, OH operations. The award was presented at Mitsubishi's annual supplier awards ceremony, in Normal, IL on Wednesday, June 18, 2003.
The Mitsubishi Supplier Award recognizes those MMNA suppliers who have excelled in providing high quality production parts in a timely manner and at a competitive price, while utilizing the latest available technologies. MMNA production control, quality, procurement, & supply completed the supplier evaluations that represent a broad-based assessment of supplier performance. This is the first Mitsubishi Supplier Award received by the Accessory Mat division and represents a major milestone for both the Accessory Mat division and the Holmesville, Ohio manufacturing facility. Commenting on the award, MMNA manufacturing president and COO Rich Gilligan stated, "The commitment of Collins & Aikman and its employees demonstrates that MMNA has the leadership in our supply chain to continue our success, well into the future."
Collins & Aikman's Holmesville, Ohio manufacturing facility is home to over 300 employees who produce approximately 4.5 million accessory mat sets annually. The Holmesville facility supplies Mitsubishi with floor mats for the Endeavor, Galant, Eclipse, and Spyder models.
