Texas Residents Get to Swing for the Stars at the First Annual Jiffy Lube(R)/Dennis Quaid Charity Classic

HOUSTON, June 18 -- Eight Texas residents won't be far from heaven when they golf with movie star Dennis Quaid at the first annual Jiffy Lube(R)/Dennis Quaid Charity Classic in Austin this weekend.

Harold Norman of Flower Mound; Jay Abney of Richardson; Sam Boone of Austin; Kevin Dahl of Austin; Stephen Foster of Friendswood; Kevin Clem of Amarillo; Shelby Melton of Houston; and Dan Wright of Mesquite were selected as grand prize winners of the Jiffy Lube(R) Swing for the Stars mail-in sweepstakes.

In addition to one round of golf with Dennis Quaid and other celebrities on Friday, June 20, each grand prizewinner can bring a guest to the weekend's other events. These include the "Lights, Camera, Fashion!" fashion show, the "A Starry, Starry Night" gala and the "Benefit Jam" concert featuring Dennis Quaid and The Sharks.

The grand prizewinners received accommodations for three nights at the Renaissance Austin hotel during the event and a complete set of Callaway(R) golf clubs, including the brand new Callaway(R) Great Big Bertha(R) II driver. Eight additional first place winners also received the new driver.

Entries for the Swing for the Stars sweepstakes were available at 164 participating Jiffy Lube(R) service centers in the Houston, Austin, San Antonio, Waco and Dallas/Fort Worth areas. The grand prizewinners were randomly selected from more than 1,000 entries.

The Jiffy Lube(R)/Dennis Quaid Charity Classic runs from June 19 through June 22 at the Avery Ranch Golf Club in Austin. Proceeds will benefit various Texas-based children's charities.
