Southborrough Ventures, Inc. Orders Laser Equipment & Finalizes Due Diligence on American Production Machining, LLC

DETROIT--June 18, 2003--The Board of Directors of Southborrough Ventures, Inc., (OTCBB:SBBV) (the "Company") is pleased to report that on April 15, 2003 the Company placed an order with its strategic partner, GSI Lumonics Inc. (www.gsilumonics.com) of Farmington Hills, MI for laser equipment valued in excess of $200,000. The Company will take delivery of the equipment by June 30, 2003 and it will be fully operational within one week of delivery.
GSI Lumonics supplies precision motion control components, lasers, and laser-based advanced manufacturing systems to the global medical, semiconductor, electronics and industrial markets. GSI Lumonics has corporate offices in the United States and Canada with sales and manufacturing offices worldwide. GSI Lumonics shares are listed on Nasdaq (GSLI) and The Toronto Stock Exchange (LSI). GSI Lumonics is a valued strategic partner of the Company that has worked closely with AmeriChip, Inc. as it refined and perfected its patented laser chip control process ("LACC"). (www.americhipmfg.com)
The Company has accepted the opportunity to establish a "testing" lab on site with GSI Lumonics in Farmington Hills, MI. Prior to the Company accepting a purchase order to process automotive components, it must first assess the feasibility of integrating and interfacing the LACC process in the machining of a specified part in a strictly controlled environment. This assessment includes an automotive industry mandated three-step compliance process in order to achieve QS9000 certified status. Once this procedure has been completed and approved, the Company proceeds to the production phase.
The Company has received a request from a major automotive manufacturer in the Detroit, MI corridor to provide a firm quotation on machining 3.5 million connecting rods per annum. The Company has agreed to provide their quote no later than June 30, 2003.
The Company has completed its due diligence of American Production Machining, LLC ("APM") of Detroit, MI and is now working with APM to finalize a definite agreement to acquire 100% ownership of APM.
American Production Machining (www.apm-machining.com) is a manufacturer of high quality production machining parts with a client base that includes the Ford Motor Company, Meritor, General Motors, Visteon, and American Axle. Upon closing, the Company intends to move its corporate office to the APM facility.
It is contemplated that current and future orders secured by APM will be processed utilizing the patented AmeriChip LACC process which is licensed to AmeriChip Ventures, Inc. ("AVI"), the Company's wholly owned subsidiary. This patented laser process is designed to eliminate the "chip-control" problem inherent when steel parts such as axle and drive shafts, connecting rods, axle tubes and hubs are machined to required specifications.
